Empowering Learners

Giving students the power to inquire makes them accountable for their own learning. I believe that every learner is born with an innate sense of curiosity. Just like toddlers who explore the world by tasting objects, observing familiar faces, smiling in recognition, or seeking comfort in a parent’s arms, children naturally try to understand their surroundings by watching, questioning, and analysing everything around them.

When we allow students to ask questions, we give them the permission — and the confidence — to dive deeper into their inquiry. In doing so, we empower them. When inquiry becomes more learner-driven than teacher-directed, the entire dimension of learning shifts. Engagement becomes richer, understanding becomes deeper, and learners take genuine ownership of their thinking.

The Power of “What if…”
Encouraging learners to ask “What if…?” opens the door to imagination and possibility. It pushes them to explore beyond the obvious, think creatively, and engage with learning in a more meaningful and independent way.
